The Joerns DolphinCare Integrated Bed System is the gold standard of care for complex wounds, or those healing from flap surgery in 2 widths, 36 inch and 42 inch to meet your needs.


The DolphinCare Integrated Bed System comes with the DolphinCare mattress and an UltraCare XT bed from Joerns Medical. The Dolphin automatically redistributes pressure by simulating the effects of a body floating on water. It uses Fluid Immersion Simulation® (FIS®) to take away points of greater pressure, allowing normal blood flow to all the skins surfaces, saving fragile skin and promoting the healing of wounds. The FIS system within the mattress uses active Laser Doppler Flowmetry (LDF) to analyze and the adjust the surface to remove pressure allowing normal blood flow to all skin surfaces, saving fragile skin, and promoting wound healing. This all-encompassing wound care solution is simple and easy to use, yet achieves unparalleled wound care outcomes, reduces the risk of injury, and helps promote early patient mobility.
The dolphin uses a microprocessor to continually adjust to each user's position and immersion into the surface, the system creates a fluttering sound as it adjusts to the user's movements. The big difference is that a Dolphin surface adjusts as needed while the more common power surfaces with low air loss and alternating pressure are static processes, meaning they do the exact same thing every time.

    STEP 1Patient lays down and the Dolphin FIS calculates the patient's weightSTEP 2As patient sinks into the surface, the Dolphin FIS calculates the surface area and provides the correct amount of air density to mimic fluid immersion.STEP 3Vascular Occlusion (measurement of blood blocked) is minimized as the Dolphin FIS dynamically reacts to patient's movement allowing for maintained near normal blood flow.

    The Dolphin is a specialized mattress which utilizes the unique Archimedes linker algorithm to measure a patient's weight and body contour and automatically imprints the data into a computerized control unit, whichexamines the data and automatically adjusts the mattress to create a neutrally buoyant, three dimensional support surface environment. The system continues to monitor the surface every 11 seconds or 300 times per hour for any patient movement. Absolutely no guesswork!
