Clients can assist in the sit-to-stand transfer, using their capabilities to participate in their care. Adolescents and adults using the Rifton Support Station can improve their standing and toileting skills over time, paving the way for greater independence and better health.
Installed without the kneeboard, the Rifton Support Station pivots to aid transfers from a wheelchair to a fixed commode. In the horizontal position, the padded trunk board can pivot 180 degrees, enabling the user to safely move his or her feet in an arc and comfortably transfer to the commode.
With the comfortable kneeboard in place for leverage, the user can remain in an upright, forward-leaning position for convenient clothing adjustment, hygiene care or transfer to a rolling commode or shower chair. The users torso rests comfortably on the padded trunk board, with only as much weight-bearing through the legs as the user can comfortably tolerate.
Key User Dimension: Height
Choose the Rifton Support Station by the user's overall height.
Important: User's weight must not exceed the maximum working load.
Adding a kneeboard determines the choice between Fixed or Pivot configuration. This decision should be made after determining your location for installation.
