This therapeutic trike grows with your child; you adjust it all with the twist of a knob! That's right, no tools. Rifton Adaptive Tricycles meet or exceed all ANSI safety standards for special needs tricycles. Adult supervision is required.

Therapy that's fun and functionally beneficial

Tricycle riding allows children to exercise their lower extremities in a way that's fun while also therapeutic. According to Lori Potts, PT, writing on the Rifton website, "As the muscles move through cycling motions, they are flexed, extended and stretched. This range of motion is crucial for children with disabilities, because muscles are incapable of keeping up with bone growth unless fully extended." While an activity with a wide range of motion encourages muscles and bones to grow at the same rate, according to Ms. Potts, "cycling has the added benefit of strengthening gross motor control development." The many accessory options provided for Rifton tricycles allows the child to operate the tricycle to the extent that his or her ability allows. "Over time," says Ms. Potts, "improved strength of quadriceps, hip extensors, and the ankle muscles, as well as improved trunk stabilization and balance will show itself."

Features and Benefits:

Tricycle frame includes adjustable self-leveling pedals with straps, small (standard) backrest pad size with handle, seat belt, your choice of conventional or loop style handlebar, and under-seat rear basket.

Be advised, this adaptive tricycle is not intended for children with strong involuntary reflexes or with poor trunk balance and/or head control.

The foam-padded loop handlebar adjusts in height and position at any angle.

This tricycle can be used for therapeutic reciprocal exercise for maintaining range of motion and strength or for recreational purposes for children/adolescents with disabilities.

Carbon fiber drive belt from pedals to rear wheel offers the following advantages:

Pedaling is slightly forward of the seat instead providing a more efficient, comfortable, and natural posture.

Steering is separate from pedaling.

Optional trunk support system stabilizes rider, adjustable backrest, laterals can be removed for transfer, butterfly harness provides anterior support

Optional trunk support system is available in two sizes - Small or Medium.

Optional mounting bar clips to the center of the handlebar, offering a place to attach a device - Great for communication devices!

All Rifton products are tested to withstand a 10% bleach solution and most commercial disinfectants. Do not machine wash harness or padded straps, however, sandal straps, seat belt, and chest belts may be machine washed.

Warranty: If a Rifton product breaks or fails in service during the first year, Rifton will replace it free of charge.

Assembly:

Assembly is not included and is the purchaser's responsibility unless prior arrangements are made for assembly to be included. Should you need assembly services, please contact us.

Return Policy: Your Satisfaction is Our Priority

Return Eligibility:

If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days for an exchange or refund.

To qualify for a refund, the product must be in new, unused condition and returned in its original packaging with all documentation, parts, and accessories.

Non-Returnable Items: Custom-made, special order, and hygienic products are not eligible for return.For health and safety reasons, and in compliance with federal health codes, used or hygienic products cannot be returned. Hygienic items include but are not limited to toileting products, shower chairs, mattresses and overlays, slings, bathroom aids, body braces, seat cushions, wheelchair cushions, stockings, splints, or any products that come into direct contact with the body.

How to Return:

All returns require a Return Authorization Number (RMA). Please contact us within 30 days of delivery to obtain your RMA and return instructions.

Note: To keep our prices as low as possible, a 15% return service fee will apply to all returned items. Refunds are calculated by the purchase price of an item; any applied discounts or promotional offers will be deducted from the refund.

Shipping fees, including expedited shipping, freight, or delivery services, are non-refundable unless the product is damaged or defective. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser unless the return is due to damage. Products returned after 30 days, in used condition, or without an RMA cannot be refunded and may be returned to the sender at the purchaser’s expense.

Damaged or Defective Items: Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery. If possible, do not accept delivery of visually damaged products. If your order is found to be damaged or defective, please contact us within 3 business days of delivery and we will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
