The comfortable pediatric chair for the classroom or home. the Rifton Activity Chair with the standard base combines with accessories to create your chair.

Rifton provides two chair designs, one incorporating a standard base and the other what it terms a Hi/lo base. This product listing is for small chair built on a standard base; other sizes of the standard-base chair and those on a Hi/lo base are listed separately (see "related products" below).

What is included?

Seat and back (R821); Stationary base (R823), Small armrests (R827) Short legs (R803), Small seat pads (choice of 6 colors).

Numerous accessories adapt this chair to children at all levels of function, and a special mini kit (R812) makes this small chair even smaller, accommodating children as short as 28 inches. Children from 6 months to 2 years, generally, can utilize the chair equipped with the mini kit, thereafter the kit can be removed for several more years of use.

Adjust with child in chair - The Rifton Activity Chair can be easily adjusted while a child is in the chair. This saves time and makes adjustments much simpler to gauge


Tilt-in-space - The Rifton Activity Chair tilt-in-space feature encourages sit to stand and rest positions. The standard-base chair tilts 15 degrees forward and 15 degrees back.


Spring option - The optional springs on the Rifton Activity Chair allow for calming through self-stim. The spring column can be locked when not in use. The Standard base has optional springs in both backrest and seat, making it an ideal choice for children with autism.


Choice of 6 pad colors - The Activity Chair seat and backrest pads are made of polyurethane foam, with a polyurethane-coated fabric.

User height determines appropriate size. The charts below provide the dimensions of not only this small chair, but also the other two sizes of those built on standard base, so that you can select the appropriate one. Note that the column referring to the small chair is highlighted in yellow.

Return Eligibility:

If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days for an exchange or refund.

To qualify for a refund, the product must be in new, unused condition and returned in its original packaging with all documentation, parts, and accessories.

Non-Returnable Items: Custom-made, special order, and hygienic products are not eligible for return.For health and safety reasons, and in compliance with federal health codes, used or hygienic products cannot be returned. Hygienic items include but are not limited to toileting products, shower chairs, mattresses and overlays, slings, bathroom aids, body braces, seat cushions, wheelchair cushions, stockings, splints, or any products that come into direct contact with the body.

How to Return:

All returns require a Return Authorization Number (RMA). Please contact us within 30 days of delivery to obtain your RMA and return instructions.

Note: To keep our prices as low as possible, a 15% return service fee will apply to all returned items. Refunds are calculated by the purchase price of an item; any applied discounts or promotional offers will be deducted from the refund.

Shipping fees, including expedited shipping, freight, or delivery services, are non-refundable unless the product is damaged or defective. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser unless the return is due to damage. Products returned after 30 days, in used condition, or without an RMA cannot be refunded and may be returned to the sender at the purchaser’s expense.

Damaged or Defective Items: Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery. If possible, do not accept delivery of visually damaged products. If your order is found to be damaged or defective, please contact us within 3 business days of delivery and we will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
